Well, I want to talk about something that I live in my everyday

Well, today I want to talk about something that is part in my everyday and have the “opportunity” to live the experience even if I wanted or not, owning an exotic pet (or three, to be more specific).

To contextualize: In 2017, my older sister felt alone living in an apartment in Santiago when she started studying, so she bought her a guinea pig, and learning about them, she read that the guinea pig can’t live without a partner, so she bought another one, and with the past of the years, one became two, and later, in three. Nowadays, we live again in the same house with the three guinea pig, a cat and a dog, and I can confirm that it’s difficult take care about the exotic pets compared to typical pets, because (in my case) we have pets that are normally prey to others, so they don’t let us to pet them, or grab them and when some of them are injured or something that it’s really hard to care and make the healings.

In my opinion and experience, have exotic animals is hard, because they need a special care, alimentation and it’s difficult to find a veterinary for them in a small town like where I live. And I hate to make a “controversial” declaration but I’ve always thought if you want to have an animal/pet, you need to have the means to take care of it; like money, time, dedication, and this thought grows when we talk about exotic pets, because if I can’t buy the food, I can’t take them to the veterinary, it’s better not have one.

Also, depends about the animal/pet because some of them cannot be domestic, and if we force them, we can hurt them or maybe the pet will never feel comfortable with one.
